Bio: Sophia Nakasone

Sophia Nakasone graduated with two bachelor’s degrees in Economics and Criminology, & Law Society in 2021 from University of California, Irvine. She moved to Seattle in 2023 and became a certified behavior technician in 2025 after working in the corporate world for a few years and wanting to transition into a more purpose-driven career supporting children’s development. Their journey working with children began in 2014, where she volunteered as a dance teacher at her local dance studio and Boys & Girls Club and an art teacher at her local arts center. In these experiences, they discovered their interest in helping children on the autism spectrum use art, dance, and other creative mediums to communicate and express themselves. In their free time, Sophia enjoys doing aerial arts, dancing, spending time with her partner and cats, trying new restaurants and coffee shops, and exploring parks around Seattle.
