Minecraft Social Skills GroupBuilding social skills, emotional flexibility, and confidence—one block at a time.
Prism Behavioral Consulting’s Minecraft Social Skills Group is a structured, clinician-led group designed for children ages 7–12 who benefit from practicing social communication, teamwork, and coping skills in an engaging and motivating environment.
Using Minecraft: Java Edition® as a shared virtual world, participants work together on guided challenges that promote collaboration, problem-solving, and emotional regulation. Each session is carefully designed and supervised by trained behavioral staff using evidence-based ABA strategies and principles from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

What Skills Does This Group Target?
Participants practice and build:
  • Functional communication (requesting help, negotiating roles, expressing needs)
  • Turn-taking, waiting, and cooperation
  • Emotional awareness and coping with frustration
  • Problem-solving and flexible thinking
  • Peer interaction and conversational skills
  • Following multi-step directions in a group setting
How the Group Works
  • Small groups with 1:1 or 1:2 staff support, based on individual needs
  • Structured weekly lessons with clear goals and expectations
  • Visual supports, role assignments, and positive reinforcement
  • Cooperative Minecraft challenges (building, exploration, scavenger hunts, and more)
  • ACT-based discussions to help children notice feelings, tolerate discomfort, and keep moving toward what matters
Each session follows a predictable routine: introduction → collaborative challenge → reflection and wrap-up, helping children feel safe, supported, and successful.
