We are offering a 6-week research-backed mindfulness and ACT course for parents and caregivers with Regional Director Jenna Rabe-Hoy, M.S., BCBA, LBA.
About the group: The Acceptance and Commitment Therapy Parent group aims to use mindfulness and Applied Behavior Analysis to support and educate caregivers of children on the Autism spectrum. The group focuses on parent mental health, coping strategies, and how to communicate and support their child through barrier behavior and mental health symptoms that impact the day-to-day life of the family. Some examples of topics in this group include: how to communicate during tantrums or barrier behaviors, support for in community, and coping strategies for parental/caregiver mental health. Research shows that parents of children with developmental disabilities or mental health challenges are the most likely to be depressed and experience divorce. This group provides opportunities to connect with other parents, work through challenges occurring in the home in a safe space and find support and community. |

The first 6-week course will run from September 21 through October 26, weekly on Thursdays from 5 to 7pm PST. Meetings will be on Zoom. The cost for the full 6-week course is $250. Click here to sign up! |
